Today, I want to share a personal and professional update.
I am officially moving into founder mode.
Second Opinion has grown leaps and bounds since I started a newsletter as a way to share my hot takes, theses, and perspectives about the future of healthcare while working in venture. Many investors don’t share information externally, but it felt natural to me to do so given my prior career in media. After four years, we have grown to more than 50,000 readers across our two newsletters, and we’re expanding into podcasts, curated events, market maps, and webinars.
As of Jan 1, I moved from a full-time role with Manatt to a National Advisor, where I’ll continue to collaborate with the brilliant team of healthcare consultants and lawyers that have become frequent contributors to this publication. I will continue to invest as a GP with Scrub Capital, working alongside hundreds of the most exceptional clinical operators to make decisions and support our growing portfolio.
People sometimes struggle with what box to put me in. Am I a journalist? Investor? Connector? Something else? At this point, I prefer instead to draw a flywheel that connects the idea of community, content, and investing. I believe that democratizing information and access to opportunities is a lever for change.
With Second Opinion, we are building a future where we will continue to stay curious, learn from each other, and share what we hear in a way that’s understandable, digestible, and relatable.
If you’re reading this in your inbox, you’re already part of the Second Opinion community. If you found this elsewhere, consider subscribing to help keep this work going. Subscriptions directly support our content and programming, and allow us to keep building independent, thoughtful healthcare coverage.
Because without resonance, we cannot put this information to use. This publication will continue to come straight to your inboxes, several times a week, and we welcome you to our upcoming webinars on topics ranging from virtual care utilization to the healthcare cost crisis.
Here’s a snapshot of what’s coming up, including upcoming webinars with operators, founders, and healthcare leaders:

And now, it’s time to build the next phase with intention, ambition, and a lot more fuel.
What we’ve built
Before looking ahead, it’s worth pausing to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together. Over the past year, we’ve been steadily expanding both our editorial footprint and our programming, including:
Publishing 80+ original pieces of content, spanning analysis, sharp POVs, interviews, and explainers.
Introducing new formats like our Roundups, LinkedIn Lives, and the surprisingly popular Healthcare Leaders Going on a Walk video series in my own neighborhood.
Hosting dozens of webinars, private dinners, and curated events for healthcare leaders across the ecosystem.

A recent Second Opinion Premium webinar, featuring a candid conversation filled with healthtech marketing tactics.
Building a lean, experienced team that keeps Second Opinion operating smoothly while we continue to grow.
Collaborating with partners on high-quality content and programming designed to inform, convene, and drive real outcomes.

An example of one of our market maps, designed to bring clarity to complex, fast-moving ecosystem dynamics
Most importantly, we proved something I’ve believed for a long time: there is a real appetite in healthcare for depth, context, honesty, and nuance. That belief is what’s driving what comes next.
What’s next for Second Opinion
Going full-time allows us to build faster and more intentionally across every part of Second Opinion. Here’s a look at what we’re actively developing:
More original reporting and analysis, across healthcare, health tech, policy, and business.
Expanded digital programming, including new recurring webinar and discussion series.
Major live events, from small, off-the-record gatherings to larger convenings around specific topics and themes.
New membership tiers and structures, built for individuals, operators, and organizations.
A new “Editorial Advisory Board” with experts across the payer, pharma, and policy landscape joining me in reviewing our analysis and suggesting ideas to inform what we write and how we write it.
A bigger investment in podcasting and video, with more consistent production and sharper storytelling.
New ways for the community to engage, connect, and learn from each other.
Through it all, our north star remains the same: delivering the insight and context that helps you better understand and navigate the business of healthcare.
Let’s partner together
If you’re trying to reach real decision-makers in healthcare, you already know how noisy most channels have become. Second Opinion is the leading source shaping the healthcare conversation, and our partnerships in 2026 will be more impactful than ever.
We work with partners across a range of high-trust, high-impact formats, including:
Custom and co-created editorial content.
Webinars, roundtables, and digital events.
Private dinners and in-person activations.
Podcast and video collaborations.
Integrated multi-channel campaigns across email, social, and live programming.

Our focus is on helping partners educate, engage, and build credibility with the right audience, not just chase impressions.

I can’t say this enough: thank you
Second Opinion exists because readers keep showing up: by reading, sharing, challenging us, and trusting us with their time and attention. Our first sponsors have made this all possible, giving me (as a mom of two) the opportunity to turn my passion into a job, and ultimately a small team.
Thank you for helping build this platform, and for giving me the confidence to go all in on what we’re creating next.
This is just the beginning of the next phase. I’m excited to take you along for what’s ahead.
